I simply made a lot of random small triangles from the three colors of paper i was using but if you want to do circles or similar shapes a large punch can help with making those shapes quickly.

If you find that the amount of color released is simply not enough put the tissue paper back in place and use your damp paintbrush to gently rub the tissue paper onto the surface of the canvas.
Paint the canvas with water fairly evenly.
Sample on bottom right photo if however you would like your painting to have a softer feel use your paint brush and add more water to the top of the papers.

You can buy specific art tissue paper for bleeding but we have found that some cheap tissue paper works just as well so just do a small test.
